SCHLICH TREE PLANTING SPADE - treaded blade approx. 28 cm. (11") tall, 20 cm. (8") wide at top, tapering to a point.  Slightly dished blade, made from heavy gauge steel plate.  Heavily strapped.  Named after Sir William Schlich, an eminent forester, 1840 - 1925
